A cracked, collapsed or misaligned drain doesn't fix itself. Left alone, the leak undermines soil, encourages root ingress and can cause subsidence under driveways, patios and foundations. Why Tewkesbury pipes take a beating
Tewkesbury sits on a flood plain at the confluence of the Severn and Avon. Ground movement here isn't unusual. After a significant flood event, soil shifts, settles unevenly and puts stress on buried pipe runs that were never designed to flex. Clay-jointed systems installed in the 1960s and 70s are particularly vulnerable, and much of the town's older housing stock sits on exactly that kind of drainage.

What the repair actually involves

Relining is quicker and avoids breaking up your driveway or garden. We'll always look at it first. But it's not suitable for every situation. A liner needs enough of the pipe's original shape to hold during insertion and curing. If a section has fully collapsed or the bore is too distorted, forcing a liner in won't produce a lasting result. We'll tell you which applies and why, before any work starts.
For longer runs with multiple defects, we sometimes combine methods: patch lining at isolated cracks, full relining for a deteriorated section, and targeted excavation only where there's no other access route.

A typical relining job on a residential drain run takes a few hours once the pipe is clean and the liner is prepared. Excavation jobs take longer depending on depth and access, and we'll give you a realistic timeline before we start. When the repair is done, we run the camera through again to confirm the result. You get a post-repair CCTV report in writing.
Remedial work, covering drain repairs, relining and pipe replacement, carries a 20-year guarantee. That guarantee applies to the repaired section against the same defect recurring. It doesn't extend to blockage clearance or descaling, which are maintenance operations rather than structural repairs.
